The smart car (for-two) started the 3 cylinder revolution on 01/15/08
Models include:
base (Pure), middle (Passion), convertible (Cabrio-pictured).
This is a two passenger vehicle (hence, model name: For-Two). The short wheelbase, light weight (1850 lbs), and engine in the rear over the two rear tires, gives the smart car excellent winter driving capabilities. The "Tridion Safety Cell" acts like a Nascar Safety Cage. It is only available in automatic transmission.

The Future Is Coming in 2016! The Elio Motors Company has produced a new 3 cylinder engine manufactured by Americans in America, Schweport, Louisiana, to be exact. The engine will be part
of the new three wheel, front wheel drive ELIO. 84mpg hwy and 69mpg city, with a sticker price of
$6,800 for the base model which includes power windows, cruise control, traction control, etc. In
other words, 'alot for a little'. Check out the mounds of information and decide for yourself.
I (PghTom) have placed a deposit on this vehicle, looking forward to the 2016 production date.
